It Needs To Be Said …

I need to say something.

2020 has felt like 10 years long, and we’re only about halfway through it – how is that even possible?

The start of the Coronavirus brought on challenges for all us that were unexpected.

*Job Loss

Please stay with me here, this isn’t going to be the typical post of “we’re all in this together” .. we are in this together, but I have seen and experienced something lately that is super disappointing, and I would think since we are all in the middle of a PANDEMIC, that it would stop.

I have seen more posts and comments of people tearing each other down, speaking hate, and disrespect than ever before.

I am exhausted.

I am disappointed.

I don’t want to hear your argument about masks.

I don’t want to hear your disrespect towards our leaders – Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or even Spiritual Leaders.

I can’t look at anymore news articles – I don’t know what is true anymore.

I don’t enjoy getting negative messages about choices that I have decided to make in my life.

Am I happy about the circumstances we are in? Absolutely not! My husband has been furloughed since March, I gave birth in the middle of a pandemic, Our lives have been turned upside down.

All of that to say – I DO know what the Bible says ….

“‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” – Matthew 22:37-38

“Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!” – Romans 12:16

“Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. “ – Romans 13:1-2

Aren’t we to show the light and love of God regardless of what we are facing? Why are we so downtrodden? Why are we so negative? Why is it ok to trash talk our leaders – because we don’t agree with them? Why is it ok to bully someone because their views are different then yours?

Is this something that we can all agree on?

So you’re a republican, I love you!

So you’re a democrat, I love you!

You hate masks? Guess what, I love you!

You love masks? I love you too!

You had/have COVID-19? I love you, and am so sorry you had to go through that!

You’re Black? I love you!

You’re Mexican? I love you!

You’re White? I love you!

You’re Gay? I love you!

You’re Lesbian? I love you!

You’re Transgender? I love you!

I refuse to allow the negativity of others to wear on me anymore. I am going to love everyone because that’s what the Bible says to do – and the Bible and God is the only thing I can have faith and trust in right now.

I know this is long, I am sorry, but I am going to leave you with this …

“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:4-9
